Manish Malhotra has completed his education in Sacred Heart Boys High School, Mumbai. For college he studied in Elphinstone College, Mumbai. He did not studied any fashion designing course but his love and passion for Bollywood and designer outfits sketches made his way towards his destination. Manish wanted to become a model but later on he realized that he was good at fashion designing ideas and sketches. For upgrading his skill he started his journey in fashion designing by becoming a fashion illustrator and designer and then in 1990s he worked in Mumbai’s fashion boutique and get to know about how to create his own sense of styling and designing.

He got a big brake in Bollywood by Ram Gopal Verma’s film Rangeela in which designed costumes for the lead heroine Urmila Matondkar. He was widely appreciated for his designing and also won the Filmfare award for the Best Costume Design. That was a kick start for his career in fashion designing and in Bollywood.

In 1998 he collaborated with Industrialist Kajal Anand, yash and Avanti Birla for designing collections for their store.

In 2010 He Collaborates with actress Shabana Azmi’s NGO Mijwan Welfare Society in order to empower the women of Mijwan by giving them employment.

In 2013 He opened India’s first largest couture store of about 15000 sq. ft. in Delhi.

In 2014 He showcased the Men for Mijwan with India’s leading celebrities like Akshay Kumar, Farah Akhtar, Amitabh Bachhan, Ranbir Kapoor, Siddhart Malhotra.

In 2016 He designed 550 costume for the cast of popular of the popular musical show Mughal-e-Azam for which he became India’s first designer to cross Million followers on digital medium.

In 2017 He was invited as a speaker from the New York University and Harvard Business School to showcase his collection Philadelphia Museum of Art.

In 2018 He designed and conceptualized the pre wedding celebrations for Isha Ambani and Anant Piramal in Udaipur, Rajasthan.

In 2019 He opened Manish Malhotra jewellery and opened flagship store in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad.

In 2020 He designed ceremonial uniforms for the Mounted Police of Maharashtra and won Filmfare ‘Award for Honour’ for contributing his 30 years in Bollywood fashion.

In 2021 He launched Virtual Couture store.
